Abstract
Bernard Lindenbaum was an aeronautical engineer with the Air Force Flight Dynamics Laboratory (AFFDL) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio from the mid-1940s until the mid-1970s. During his time with the laboratory, he was involved in the research and development of many types of vertical take-off and landing aircraft (VTOL) including the Avro "Avrocar," a number of Sikorsky helicopters, the Vought XC-142 tilt wing, and many other similar aircraft.
